War-date partly-printed Document Signed, “O.C. Redic Capt. Comdg Co. D 105th Regt. P.Vols.” WIA Spotsylvania Court House and countersigned “Jas Miller Maj. Comdg 105th PV.” WIA at Ashburng, 1p. folio, being a “Requisition for Ordnance and Ordnance Stores for the use of Company I 105th Regiment, P.V. Infantry, commanded by Capt. O.C. Redick” In the Field, Virginia, March 13, 1865, and lists Springfield rifles, cartridge boxes, and etc. VG.During the Wilderness an artillery shell stuck the ranks of the 105th, striking private Enos Shirts, exploding upon impact, and blowing him to pieces. Lt. Redic was wounded by a fragment of the shell, and a number of the men were sprinkled with the flesh and blood of their fallen comrade, the splinters of his bones penetrating their clothing.
