A good post-war manuscript document, 1p. 4to., issued by Lt. Stephen Baker, 6th U. S. Infantry, Lawtonville, S. C., Sept. 20, 1865. In part: "…the Capt. Comdg. directs that you take immediate and prompt measures for collecting all Confederate and United State arms in the hands of the inhabitants in your vicinity. All arms so collected will be turned over to the 1st Lieut. A. H. Freeman 6th U. S. Infantry, Asst. Prov. Mars….". Fine.
