EDSON, Tracy R. (1809-1881) Founder of the American Bank Note Company and was well known for his telephone and telegraph company work. Nice grouping includes his manuscript diary, 50p. dated 1836, with excellent entries about his trip from New Orleans to Cuba, and a wonderfully detailed description of the people and sights scene in Cuba. The diary also records his return voyage as well as visiting Kentucky and other states. In addition to this fine diary are two checks signed by him in 1880, two photographs of him, and a huge passport for him, dated 1874, and signed by Hamilton Fish (1808-1893) Secretary of State under Grant. All VG.
