Manuscript Letter Signed, "H.G. Heffron" Lt Colonel & Provost Marshal, 79th New York Infantry 'Highlanders', 1p. quarto, Head Quarters 9th A.C., Provost Marshals Office, April 18, 1862, addressed to Major Brown P.M. 3d Division, 6th Corps, and reads "I have the honor to forward you herewith a newspaper boy under guard, who behaved very disorderly & disobediently. He also is in possession of a very fine horse, marked U.S!..." Fine.The 79th New York 'Highlanders' wore full Scottish garments into battle and were a hard fought and well known Union regiment.
