Federal imprint, 4p. octavo, being field printed "Judicial General Orders No. 15", Head Quarters, District of North Carolina, New Berne, North Carolina, September 22, 1864, stating charges and specifications found in a General Court Martial, of which Brigadier General Edward Harland was president. It records several cases including two pertaining to the 1st & 2nd North Carolina Infantry [Colored], one in which Marcus R. Johnson, Co. C, 1st Reg't N.C. U. Vols. was charged with desertion and found guilty. The other involved Benjamin Asken of Co. A, 2d Regt N.C.U. Vols, who was charged with desertion but was found guilty of 'absence without leave.' Another case of interest involves Wagoner James C. Town, 9th Vermont Vols, who was charged with "Mutiny." after leading a small mob of enlisted men to the quarters of Lt. Col. V.G. Barney, and demanded the release of a private held in confinement. VG.
