A nice Civil War veteran's bounty claim document for a member of the 20th Maine Volunteers, one of the war's most famous regiments. The 20th won fame on July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg while helping defend the extreme left wing of the Army of the Potomac on Little Round Top. Partly-printed D. S. 1p. 4to., in which Pvt. Erastus Counce, Co. I, 20th Maine seeks an additional bounty due him after an act of Congress was passed in 1866. Folds, else very good.
