KELTON, John Cunningham (1828-1893), joined the staff of Gen. H. W. Halleck with the rank of major and assistant adjutant-general, July 17, 1862, remaining in Halleck's military family until July 1, 1865, was brevetted lieutenant-colonel and colonel, March 13, 1865, and brigadier-general.
