Neatly penned 2 page letter advising they had not paid their bill for "cloths" as the goods were not received on time and were too late for the "present season. We thought of laying them by for three months by which time they will be more saleable." They also received the second invoice "…as for the [other] cloths [sic] we are very glad you have not sent them… if we had them two months earlier we might have sold them by this time…now too late for cloths of other woolen goods…cannot sell them until fall. The summer cloths we have sold" and more in regard to sales; also: "Goods are plenty here and we are selling at very low rates.". Back sheet acts as cover; addressed to Tobias; with postal surcharge. Aging, but exc.
