War-date partly-printed Union sutler's pass printed by Washington's Jewish printing office of Philip & Solomon, the Union army's official printing firm, 1p. oblong 8vo., "Headquarters Military District of Washington, Jan. 24, 1863" issued to: "A. L. Gee, Sutler 50th Penna. Vols. having furnished satisfactory evidence of his loyalty to the Government of the United States, will be permitted to pass within the lines of the United States forces to Virginia…for the purpose of supplying [the] Regt with goods…this pass will expire Jan. 31, 1863…Signed and made official by aide de camp Capt. Henry Lockwood. Usual wear, else VG.
