A attractive pair of war-date CDVs by noted New Orleans photographer Thomas Lilienthal who setup shop at 102 Poydras Street in the Crescent City. A nice pair showing a man and woman, each bearing the photographer's back stamp on the verso with the woman's image being a finely engraved street view of Lilienthal's storefront. Both VG Theodore Lilienthal (1829-1894) was a successful commercial photographer of the era. At one time, he operated three studios in the city, as well as a mobile, horse-drawn darkroom and studio. His work has recently been re-discovered and published in a book, ""New Orleans 1867: Photographs by Theodore Lilienthal"."
