MAYER SULZBERGER (1843-1923). All single page, neatly penned (1) from A. Solomons, New York Nov. 5, 1884 commending him "…upon your very able address before the Y.M.H.A…upon the life of Sir Moses Montefiore"…(2) From P. Cowan on printed letterhead "THE AMERICAN HEBREW / N.Y. [periodical]" Oct. 11, 1884: "We propose having full accounts of the Montefiore celebrations in N.Y. and Phila. and will be pleased to be able to print your oration in full…we propose having 4 pages extra and more" (with further details)…(3) Printed letterhead of "Isaacs/Counselors of Law/N.Y." August 7, 1884: "I have the honor as Chairman of Committee designated to present to you… the resolution adopted at the Executive Board, Union of American Hebrew Congregations July 15, 1884" with second page a draft of that resolution at meeting held at Niagara Falls July 15, 1884…expressing deep appreciation of the fidelity, zeal and ability with which they devoted themselves to the difficult task" [etc.]. All 3 exc. with fine bio sketch of Sulzberger's many important contributions to Jewish and American history from the "Dictionary of American Biography" (he also has many bio sketches in all Jewish encyclopedias).
