The writer is a new Christian and this journal is primarily a devotion with his personal walk, his doubts, and his efforts to live his Christian life. He opens, "...Goodness and mercy however have followed me up to the present moments, and through the inspirations of grace, I can say the Lord is my sun and shield ..." "One year ago today I began to live a life of faith in the son of God." And later, "In self examination I find within me a strange propensity to penetrate the design of providence, rather than to bow adoringly before its mysterious majesty." Then, "For several days I have felt my confidence in God increasing." An insightful Christian walk.
