Group of five ca. 1865 letters from the Dornblazer family of Clinton Co., Penn., includes: Autograph Letter Signed , 2pp. octavo, August 28, 1864, and reads in part: "...We received a letter from Thomas [F. Dornblazer Co. E, 7th Penn. Cavalry] last week he was well. Then they were about 2 miles within Atlanta but he was back with the horses and the others were in the front. They were throwing up entrenchments as they advanced. They were going to surround it…". Plus, 4pp. octavo, Happy Hope, Dec. 18, [18]65, concerning a young man's seizure, reading, in part: "…the singing is played out…the prayer meeting and the debate are taking everything to pieces. I was their the other night and just as it adjourned their was a onyx man took a fit. He fell to the floor and he got as black as the stove. They carried him out…then he got better…he had been debating just before this come so sudden upon him. He knows nothing from the time he takes it till it is over…". Also included are three of the original transmittal covers. All letters are good to very good condition.
