A pair of photographs, each framed in a 4” deep frame, 15” x 17” with gold painted inner frame, fancy carved designs and wood backers. Both frames are identical. Thus the impression that the subjects are a couple. The female, oval albumen image 6” x 8”, is professional accomplished with the woman seated, black silk dress, holding a book and wearing a lacy white bonnet. She appears to be 60 years old or older. The mate is that of a white man, oval tintype image 6” x 8”, chest up, formally dressed. There is no proveanance but clearly these framed images have been together for awhile. c1900
