BRAYMAN, Mason (1813-1895) was an American attorney, newspaperman, and military officer. During his service to the Union Army during the American Civil War, he rose to the rank of brigadier general. Later in life, he became the seventh Governor of the Idaho Territory. War-date Autograph Quote Signed "M. Brayman Brig Genl. Vols." 1pp. quarto, Camp Denmrow, Ohio, January 20, 1864, and reads "When Freedom down from Heaven descends, to reign upon the Earth, amidst her crown of stars was blended, The fearless name of Worth!" Good condition.
