Booklet, "Record of the Services of the Seventh Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops, from September, 1863, to November, 1866, by an Officer of the Regiment", Providence, 1878, 138pp.. Written by Joseph Mark Califf who enlisted on 9/15/1863 as a 2nd Lieutenant and on 11/12/1863 he was commissioned into "F" Co. USCT 7th Infantry He was Mustered Out on 10/13/1866. First Edition. "A detailed and valuable account of a unit raised in Maryland that compiled a long and distinguished combat service in Virginia, South Carolina, and on the Mexican border". There is included a roll of all the enlisted men in the Seventh. About 200,000 African-Americans served the Union, mostly freedmen from the South. Paper covers show very moderate wear, interior VG.
