The large collection has TWENTY-EIGHT Bills. Confederate States of America ten dollar bill featuring a central illustration of a war scene. Men in uniform are at center riding horses while in the background soldiers stand near a cannon on wheels. On either side of the illustration are two dark shields with the inscriptions, "TWO YEARS AFTER / THE RATIFICATION OF A / TREATY OF PEACE / BETWEEN" and on the right, "THE CONFEDERATE / STATES / AND THE / UNITED STATES / OF AMERICA." The identifying serial number of the bill is handwritten below on both sides of the illustration. In the oval is a portrait of Robert Mercer Taliaferro Hunter. The back of the note is all in blue ink. Authorized February 17, 1864, and printed by Walker, Evans & Co
