DARIUS NASH COUCH (1822-1897) graduated the USMA in 1846 became a major general in the Civil War leading a division at the battles of Second Bull Run, Antietam and Chancellorsville. He was transferred to the West after offering his resignation in disgust of General Hooker's performance during the Chancellorsville campaign. A pair of Consolidated Morning Reports for the 2nd Army Corp, Commanded by Maj. General Couch. Each is 31" x 10-3/4" partially printed, showing the strength of the Corp. The first is December 10, 1862, near Falmouth VA showing 41 Regiments, 420 Companies, 15,383 ready for duty. The second is December 21, 1862, near Falmouth VA showing 46 Regiments, 472 companies and 14,260 ready for duty.
