The 16" x 13" document is headlines, "Roll of Soldiers Employed on Extra Duty as Cooks and Nurses in the General Hospital at Cumberland Md." There are 18 soldiers listed comprised of 13 Nurses, 4 Cooks and 1 Ward Master. Sixteen of the soldiers have signed the roll which has 12 columns identifying the soldier, rank, company, regiment, by whose orders placed him, terms of service and rate of pay, etc. The document is approved by Commander George H. Oliver, Surgeon. In October 1862, the hospitals at Clarysville were transferred to Cumberland, under the direction of Dr. George H. Oliver, Medical Director. The Belvidere Hall, the old Presbyterian Church and the Old Mill," on South Mechanic street, were amongst the buildings taken for the purpose. The consigner has included Civil War Data sheets for each soldier.
