Union Soldier's letter by Pvt. Richard Fisk who, on 8/23/1861 mustered into "E" Co. MA 21st Infantry who was wounded 11/24/1863 Knoxville, TN. and died of those wounds on 11/27/1863. The 3pp., letter is written on unique patriotic letterhead showing five soldiers running with caption "The First Step in the Art of War, HOW TO RUN". Dateline Sep. 12 (62), Annapolis, in part "I am at Paterson Park where ... the sick is all brought here to the hospital there are three hundred here now from Bull Run and other places ... some prisoners too. ... A good many of the boys get in the guard house and have to wear the twenty pound balls on the legs. I have not been there yet.
