Two page letter with original cover written by Andrew Barrows to his brother Warren Barroughs, datelined Boston, Oct 21, 1863. In part, "I was surprised to hear you had been out to the great Battle of Gettysburg. I think you must of seen things that you never dreamt of or expected to see in your lifetime. I am sure I would like to go there, the same time, I would not like to see the poor fellows bones piled up on top of the ground to rot no matter whether they are abolitionists or rebels. I would sooner see some of these long hailed folks rot on the ground than Southern rebel. ..."
