Both discharges are for Allen Cook who enlisted on 9/24/1861 as a Private and mustered into "H" Co. MD Purnell Leiong Infantry and was Mustered Out on 10/24/1864. Cook re-enlisted on 2/28/1865 as a Private and mustered into "G" Co. MD 1st PHB Infantry. He was transferred out on 4/8/1865 into "G" Co. MD 13th Infantry and was Mustered Out on 5/29/1865.Both documents are darkened, partially printed and include his discharge October 24, 1864 from Maryland Purnell Leiong ... plus, His discharge May 29, 1865 from Maryland 13th Infantry
