Document Signed, 2pp., by "A.Y. Harper" who was commissioned into "K" Co. MS 6th Infantry, 8/24/1861, promoted to Lt. Col.. Datelined October 15, 1861. In large part, "I hereby certify that the East Miss. Greys, a Volu7nteer Company in the 6th Reg Miss. Vols, under my command is composed of seventy-five members, all of whom performed while in Miss. Nine days military duty, in accordance with the requirement of the 13th section of an Act entitled an Act Further to Regulate Militia and Volunteer System. Forty-seven of whom have received Nine Dollars each and the remaining twenty-eight have not but are legally entitled here to, making an aggregate Two hundred and fifty dollars." Signed "A.Y. Harper, East Miss. Greys". "Sworn before me this 16th day of October 1861, Elyal Brooks, J.P. for L. County Tenn." and finishes with "Received muster warrant No. 773 for Two hundred and fifty dollars in full of the claim. A.Y. Harper".
