A complete and authentic issue of the Bangor Daily Whig and Courier, April 28, 1865, 4pp., never bound. Front page, "TELEGRAPHIC, Capture of the Assassin Booth and his Accomplice Harold - Booth shot to death in struggle - Booth's body and Harold now in Washington" Then from page 2, "The Assassin Booth Killed" ... As for Booth, he has gone to account a monstrous parricide - with the blood of the father of his country on his hands ... Also from the third page, "Booth and Harold reached Garret's some days ago - Booth walking on crutches. A party of four or five accompanied them ... Booth and Harold were dressed in Confederate Grey new Uniforms ... The shot which terminated his cursed life, entered on the left side at the back of the neck .... It is now thought that Booth's leg was fractured in jumping from the box in Ford's theater ..."
