War-date Union soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., written on "McClellan" patriotic stationery by Pvt. Samuel Finley Co. B, 15th United States Regular Infantry, "Camp Wood, Hardin County, Kentucky, Feb. 3, 1862," to his friend, Charles Williams, in part: "- we have to go out on picket once a week - we have a great deal of sickness in the camp. There has been two men died in the last few days in our company. It was a mysterious complaint. The doctors do not know what it is but I am not tired of soldiering -there is talk of us going to Louisville - just our regiment for provost guard - I want you to wright and let me know how you are getting along and whether you are letting the girls suffer or not - Samuel Finely, - 15 Infantry Regulars Army, Compy.
