An interesting content war-date, 4pp. 8vo., written on, rarely encountered in the marketplace, "The Banner of Glory, George Washington" patriotic stationery, written by Pvt. Joseph B. Miller, Co. G, 6th Ohio Cavalry [WIA Hawe's Shop, VA, 5/28/64], "Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio, March 9, 1862," to his father, reading, in part: "- the doctors told me on Friday that I should not leave the hospital - but I told them I would go with my company so [when] the doctors was over to the other hospital - I sent for the captain [James C. Richart] and he had an ambulance sent to the hospital at ten o'clock and Jim & me piled in to it, was taken to the cars - there is fourteen hundred secesh prisoners here at this camp - I have been looking at a lot of prisoners that was taken at Ft. Donelson. Among them I saw - James Anderson so you can tell Old Robert his son is a prisoner. There is not two dressed alike - you can tell the neighbors that I saw Jim Anderson. Our Capt. [James C. Richart] saw him and [also] John Jack [DOD City Point, VA, 10/01/64] - Joseph B. Miller - Camp Chase, Ohio, 6th O. V. Cavalry." Very light toning, else VG.
