Manuscript Poem, 7-3/4" x 9-3/4", "Three Cheers for Sergeant W.W. Pierce". The 2pg poem has burned holes, 3" x 3/4", adds character. The three stanzas poem included, "They came from Braintree's gallant men, Then Sergeant Pierce appeared, I thank you for your compliment, And may there be no stain, Upon the fame of Braintree's Boys. ... The Briantree boys are wide awake, And Randolphs are too ... We do not fear a traitors foe, and may rebellion wane ..." Includeds a full transcript.
