F, 27th New Jersey Vols.,"Camp Sumner on the Rappahannock, [Va.], Feb. 8, 1863," to his "dear parents, Bros & Sisters," in part: "- I perceive by it you have not yet heard of Jno. Henry's death. The pay of an Orderly is $21 a month - Sylvester Belcher is near me while I am writing - he sometimes tells the cooks some dreadful fibs to cheat them out of an extra ration of beefsteak - Chas. J. Baxter." Minor spotting, else VG
