War-date Union soldier letter, 2 1/2pp. 8vo., written by Corporal Levi Pimm, Co. D, 48th New York Vols., [KIA Strawberry Plains, Va., 8/16/64 & WIA Drewery's Bluff, Va. 5/16/64], Fort Pulaski, Georgia, June 1, 1862, to his parents, reading, in part: "- we are encamped outside of the fort. The 7th Conn. Reg. left today - General Stevens has taken possession of the railroad between Savannah & Charleston, but we have a rumor a float in camp that the rebels have again driven him back, though but little credit is given to the report - Levi Pimm." Overall VG.
