James Kimbrough Jones (1839-1908) was a Confederate Army veteran, plantation owner, lawyer, US congressional representative, United States senator and chairman of the Democratic National Committee from Arkansas. He enlisted in Company A of the Third Arkansas Cavalry, seeing action in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri before falling ill from pneumonia. After recovering, he rejoined his unit and saw further action in Mississippi and Tennessee before becoming ill a second time. Signed Card “James K. Jones”.
