John Ellis Wool (1784-1869) was a US officer in the United States Army during three consecutive American-involved wars: the War of 1812 (1812-1815), the Mexican–American War (1846-1848), and with allegiance to the Union, in the American Civil War (1861-1865). He also participated in the American Indian wars and the Trail of Tears. Clipped Signature “John E. Wool, Major General”.
