Union officer’s 2pp letter written by Cyrus D. Kendall who on 8/1/1861, was commissioned into "D" Co. Missouri 11th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 6/18/1864.Datelined: Camp Germantown Tennessee, February 8, 1863 to his wife, in part “...thought perhaps you have before this time started to make me a visit. ... Mr. Powers would come over to Louisville for you & bring you down to make a visit. ... If I’m not there, tell the hand that you want to go to Germantown on the rail road and you will have no trouble.The 11th Missouri Infantry Regiment was organized at Jefferson Barracks at St. Louis, Missouri, and mustered in for three years on August 6, 1861. In its early history, the regiment was known as the "Missouri Rifles".
