Union soldier’s 3pp letter written on scarcely seen color patriotic letter sheet, “Our Camp Fire”, to his parent by Pvt. Francis M. Fields who on 8/19/1862 mustered into "H" Co. Ohio 45th Infantry and was Accidentally Killed on 5/27/1863 at Somerset, KY. According to Ohio Genealogy, Fields was 16 at his death and accidentally shot while on picket, near Somerset, Ky., May 17, 1863. Datelined : Danville Ky, Febr. 15th, 1863, in part “Our Regt is agoing to get horses ... we will get our pass in about two weeks ...”
