A Union soldier’s 4pp. letter written by George A Dixon to his wife. George was mustered into A Company, PA 150th Infantry. Listed as wounded 5/12/64 Spotsylvania Court Hose. Datelined, Culpeper January 7, 1864, in part, “I was on Picket January first and I think that is about as cold as I ever have been in my life ... The afternoon of the 2nd, I felt so bad with my cold .. it got hold of me... But thanks unto God for I am better now. .. There is no chance of getting home for furloughs have stopped. The men who reenlisted can go home but they cant get me on the hook ... by the time I serve my three years out, it will satisfy me for awhile. ...”
