Autograph Letter Signed, “Charles Lee” 1p. quarto, Alexandria, Virginia, August 16, 1795, addressed to Zachius Collins, and reads in part: “...Mr. Wells has sundry powers of attorney concerning Bank stock...I posses a certificate for six per cent stock on the books of the Treasury in my name for upward of 1500 dollars....I ought also to have in the bank of the United States upwards of 3400 dollars specie, in which perhaps also a mistake was made by Mr. Simpson who wrote to me, that I had no money in bank...” VG.
