Autograph Letter Signed, “Thomas S. Bartlett” 1p. folio, December 11, 1847, Wilson County, Tennessee, addressed to Mr. Plunket, it reads in part: “...I have according to promises written you a few lines with regard to the business that we was talking about and since I have studies about it I think that the wages that I asked you would not justifiy me in working for you...if I take hold of the mule I shall try to tare off as much work as any hand that you have had but I would much rather try the thrasels than the mule as I wish to practice with the thrasel spinnning if you could possible let me have that job I would take it...I have a very [good] job offered me at this time and first rate wages...” VG....plus; Stereoview “Cotton is King, Plantation Scene, Georgia.” Fine.
