Buel received his appointment as Major General...if I had money writing paper is five cents a sheet here there is very little gold or silver in use here, all the mony is in shinplasters they run from 5 c upwards, if we get paid off before we leave here I will get some of them and send home as relics. I will also try and get some Confederate script...” VG.
