A historic war-date partly-printed Confederate ordnance document, 1p. 4to., Richmond Arsenal, [Richmond, Va.], Feb. 10, 1863 for 170 boxes of musket cartridges totaling 170,000 rounds of .54, .58, and .69 cal. cartridges to be delivered to the Army of Northern Virginia stationed at Chesterfield Station, Va. Overall a very important document showing exactly what the Confederate military command deemed appropriate to re-supply their depleted stores of ammunition after the battle of Fredericksburg . Delivery is to be received by Robert E. Lee's Reserve Ordnance Train Officer Lt. James Mercer Garland while the document is signed by artillery Capt. William N. Smith while manager of the Richmond Arsenal's ordnance laboratory on Brown's Island. Interestingly, was "Stonewall" Jackson's ordnance officer until December 1862. VG
