Partly-printed Confederate “Exchange Certificate”, 1p. 6”x3-1/2”, December 13, 1864, C.D. Depository’s Office, Washington, Arkansas, and reads “This Certifies that F. R. Robinson by Wm. Hendricks has deposited in this office, Five Hundred Dollars of ‘Old Issue’ Treasury Notes, to be exchanged , on his order for Two-Thirds of that sum in ‘New Issue’ Notes, under Act of Congress of 17th Feb’y, 1864...” Signed by depositor Edward Cross who was a U.S. Arkansas Territorial Judge in 1830, became a member of the U.S. Congress, and served as Arkansas Attorney General. VG.
