JOHNSON, Bradley T. (1824-1903). Confederate Brigadier General. Johnson helped organize the 1st Maryland Infantry, served on Stonewall Jackson's staff and ended the war as commandant of the military prison in Salisbury, North Carolina. After the war Johnson practiced law in Baltimore. Autograph Letter Signed, “Bradley T. Johnson” 1p. octavo, on his personal stationary, Richmond, Virginia, March 27, 1869, it reads in part: “...Stokes & Co. refuse to ship ...without Tates assent...Tates counsul dont know hwere he is - Therefore, change the petition we drew up...” VG.
