Each 3 x 5 ½ (same size as patriotic cover) in a bronze type ink. Numbered 1 through 12. Each a different battle scene of the Civil War; and each with bold captioning along bottom describing the battle, its date, and the printer’s signature of the noted “CHARLES MAGNUS…NEW YORK.” “No. 1” commences with the “Battle of Carthage, MO July 5, 1861” and with numerous identified engagements through the year 1862, concluding with “No. 12” “Grierson’s Raid through the state of Mississippi, May 4-12’th, 1863.” All are heated battle scenes, including Fort Donelson…Murfreesboro (3 different views)…Pea Ridge (3 different numbered views) and “Storming the outer works of Vicksburg.” All exc. Normal aging. Rare to find a complete full set.
