Archive pertaining to Captain Charles A. Woodworth, 44th New York Infantry, WIA at Malvern Hill, Virginia, later he was appointed 1st Lieutenant in the 131st Veteran Reserve Corps, and served until the close of the war. After he left the service he became Colonel in the 97th Missiouri Militia about the time the James-Younger Gang was robbing banks in that state. This archive of approximately fifty (50) items, includes: Three page Autograph Document by Woodworth being a capsule history of his early life and military promotions through his wounding at Malvern Hill. He states that he during a charge of his company he received a gunshot wound in the face.
