A good group of three war-date Maryland bounty claim forms for Pvt. Henry Keicke, Co. A, 1st Maryland Light Artillery. The first document is a partly-printed claim certificate 1p. 12 mo., Baltimore, Md., Sept. 28, 1864 reading, in part: "…Henry Keicke of Batty A Lt. Arty…has been paid the CASH BOUNTY AND MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS in accordance with an act…of Maryland…will be entitled to receive…SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS, on presentation of his honorable discharge…". Minor folds. VG…PLUS; a pair of partly-printed 12mo. documents tipped together to make one larger piece Baltimore. Md., July, 13, 1865, reading, in part: "…pay…seventy five Dolls. being the final amount due me…as a veteran volunteer in Co. A. 1st Md. Lt. Artillery…I hereby certify that Henry Keicke who signed the foregoing draft…is known to me to be the identical person he herein describes…". Two government tax stamps show that the proper tax was levied. Usual toning, else very good.
