Watson who is appointed “Corporal in the Army of the American Eagle...” Small repairs, else VG. The U.S. Sanitary Commission used the Army of the American Eagle, named after ‘Old Abe’ the 8th Wisconsin war eagle, to raise funds for sick and wounded soldiers at the Northwestern Sanitary Fair.
