DuPONT, Henry Algernon (1838-1926) President of the Wilmington and Northern Railroad. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his distinguished service and gallantry at Cedar Creek during the Civil War. Typed Letter Signed, “H.A. du Pont” 1p. quarto, January 18, 1913, United States Senate, Committe on Military Affairs, Washington, addressed to The Monetary Educational Bureau, and reads: “...I have received the copy of ‘High Cost of Living’ and enclose herewith my check No. 1626 on the Union Trust Company of the District of Columbia, for $1.00, in payment for the same...” VG.
