Grouping of vintage photographs and ephemera from a cruise of the U.S.S. Chattanooga (1904-1908). In 1905 the Chattanooga was part of the squadron with the Olympia which received on board the body of John Paul Jones, which the squadron brought home to the Naval Academy. She then set sail for duty in the Pacific. Included in this group are photographs of sailors during their visit to the Orient, including a fine vintage photograph of the sailors on hand-drawn rickshaw's as well as a large Buddha statue and three other landmarks....plus; lithograph by Karl Lewis of Yokohama, Japan, 1p. oblong quarto, which records the various ports visited by the Chattanooga and on which dates she arrived and left. This includes the trip to France, and records dates from October 1904 through September 1907....plus; Card printed in French pertaining to the removal of the body of John Paul Jones...plus; U.S.S.
