CARUSO, Enrico (1873-1921)Italian Tenor. Among Caruso's many honors were commendatore in the Order of the Crown of Italy, the French Legion of Honor, and the Order of the Crown Eagle of Prussia. Autograph Note Signed on the verso of a photographic portrait postcard of him, Florence, Italy, July 17, 1919, to Carl E. Peck of Hardiman and Peck in New York City. A thank you note which reads: "Many thanks for the delecious [sic] box and good wishes, both much appreciated. Sincerely yours Enrico Caruso." The photograph, by Varischi & Arico of Milan, isa 3/4 portrait of the singer, nattily dressed in pin-striped suit and white hat. Small archivally repaired chip at top left corner affects nothing, else Fine.
