JOHNSON, Ferd (b.1905) Cartoonist. Original three panel daily comic strip for his popular work ‘Moon Mullins’ signed twice and inscribed “...with best wishes Ferd Johnson 64.” Johnson took over the ‘Moon Mullins’ strip in 1957 after the death of the creator Frank Willard. In the first panel kids are trying to fly a kite but there is no wind - the 2nd has the kids pool their money with the 3rd depicting them in ‘Moon’s Snappy Cab Co.’ taxi with the kite flying high and say ‘Look, Moon!’ VG.
