YOUNG, Murat Bernard (1901-1973), known as Chic Young, was the creator and original artist of the comic strip Blondie. His older brother Lyman Young was also a comic strip artist, most famous for the strip Tim Tyler's Luck. Original four panel daily comic stirp, 1p. 18”x6”, of ‘Blondie’ signed by Chic Young in the fourth panel along with the date 5-30. In the third panel is, King Features Syndicate, Inc. 1964, World right reserved. In the first panel Dagwood answers the front door and a sales man says ‘I’ll bet you a dollar I know where you got that neck-tie’ with Dagwood woods response ‘I’ll take that bet.” the 2nd panel has Dagwood saying ‘He doesn’t know where I got this tie - lend me a dollar and I’ll give you half my winnings.’ The 3rd panel has the salesman state “You got the tie around your neck” and takes Dagwood’s dollar. The 4th panel has Blondie inquire “Did you win?’. Fine.
