Union solidier’s 4pp. pencil letter on scarce illustrated Magnus “Richmong VA” letter sheet by William Petry who on 8/11/1862, mustered into "B" Co. Pennsylvania 130th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 5/21/1863 at Harrisburg, PA. Dateline: Camp Wells, 130 Reg., Co. B August 20 (‘62) in part, “I (en)listed in York and went from York to Harrisburg and from there we went to Baltiomore and from there we went to Washington and now we lay 8 miles below Washington right in the rebels. We see them everyday. ... we expect a big fight every day. ... but be true to me you are still my dear ...”
